Tim Brown, Ph.D., is a developmental cognitive neurophysiologist and pediatric neuropsychologist specializing in anatomical and physiological human brain imaging and recording. For more than three decades, he has studied which brain systems kids and adults use for different kinds of mental and physical tasks and how these activated brain networks change with learning and development.
Tim is also a trained clinician in the assessment and diagnosis of childhood neurodevelopmental disorders, including those involving attention and executive functions, reading and language, sensory processing, learning and memory, genetic conditions, and brain damage from injury or illness. He is currently the Kavli Sandstrom Timmons Endowed Faculty Fellow in Human Brain Development in the Department of Neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine, where he directs the Sentia Laboratory for Childhood Systems Neuroscience.
